Last night (May 8), Disney Branded Television hosted the U.S. premiere event for “Doctor Who” at NeueHouse Hollywood in Los Angeles. Attendees were treated to a cosmic joyride with an exclusive screening ahead of the season debut May 10 on Disney+, followed by a timey-wimey after-party immersed in the world of “Doctor Who.” In attendance were series stars Ncuti Gatwa (Fifteenth Doctor) and Millie Gibson (Ruby Sunday), as well as the creative team — Russell T Davies (showrunner, executive producer and writer) and executive producers Jane Tranter, Julie Gardner, Phil Collinson and Joel Collins. Distinguished celebrities and guests included Alex Borstein (“Family Guy,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”), Kari Byron (“MythBusters”), Dan Povenmire (“Phineas and Ferb”), Rick and Becky Riordan (“Percy Jackson and the Olympians”), Dua Saleh (“Sex Education”) and many more. An introduction to the screening was made by Ayo Davis (president, Disney Branded Television). ABOUT “DOCTOR WHO” The Doctor and his companion Ruby Sunday travel across time and space, with adventures all the way from the Regency era in England to war-torn future worlds. Throughout their adventures in the TARDIS — a time-traveling ship shaped like a police box — they encounter incredible friends and dangerous foes, including a terrifying bogeyman and the Doctor’s most powerful enemy yet. On Friday, May 10, at 4:00 p.m. PDT / 7:00 p.m. EDT on Disney+ in the U.S. and around the world (excluding the U.K.), audiences can stream “The Church on Ruby Road,” which premiered last December, as well as two all-new episodes. In the U.K., “Doctor Who” begins streaming on May 11 at midnight on BBC iPlayer before airing on BBC One later that day, giving audiences a simultaneous global launch. New episodes drop Fridays on Disney+, where available, and on Saturdays on the BBC and BBC iPlayer in the U.K.
